How to add Live Chat to your website
- In Settings > Messaging > Channels, find "Live Chat" ("Put a chat on your website. Visitors write there, you answer here.").
- Click "Add a website".
- Fill in:
- "Name": for you, for example "My store".
- "Website addresses": your site's address with https://, one per line. The chat shows only on these sites.
- "Colour" and "Position" ("Bottom right" or "Bottom left") of the bubble.
- "Chat title" (for example "Chat with us") and an optional "Welcome message".
- Click Save. The "Code for your site" window opens.
- Copy the code (one line) and paste it once into every page of your site, just before </body>. On WordPress, click "Download the WordPress plugin" instead, install it, and paste the website's key into it (the value after data-key= in the code).
- Under the code, the window shows three keys, only this once: "Signing key for signed-in users", "Server key (for your own chat screen)" and "Reply signature key". You need them only if your developer connects your site's own system (see below). Copy them now and keep them on your server, never in a web page.
The website's card shows "On the site" once the chat has been seen on your website. "Not on the site yet" means the code has not been pasted yet, or the page's address is not in "Website addresses".

Do I need my own Meta developer app to connect WhatsApp?
No. Use "Connect with Facebook". You do not need to enter any keys.
